Tsk Tsk. People are getting crazier and crazier with their cooking. How much fat can you possibly stuff into one burger?

I find the "Pop Tarts Ice Cream Sandwich" to look quite yummeh.. >.>
But, that's exactly why people would subject themselves to it. They want to eat, taste, and enjoy it. They crave to have the deliciousness envelope their mouths, they desire the fact that it simply slides down their throat into their stomach, and love the overall satisfied feeling of it. Some eat out of boredom, even, which doesn't help weight issues at all.

Agree. Visual appeal is what makes people start eating. And once they start, its hard to stop .

Indeed. Especially if they're enjoying it - there will be a more likeliness of them going back for seconds.

But you would think self-control would take precedence over the looks of the food...

You would think so, but there are many people around that ignore their self-control in order to get what they want. Think about the U.S. Most people assume that everyone from here eat at McDonald's, most of the time. Well - not most everyone. But those who constantly eat there aren't all that healthy-looking, to put it bluntly. And, all of the other fast food places.. It's not surprising to see that obesity is increasing within the country. I also blame the fact that people are getting lazier.. So they rely on the efficiency of fast food restaurants, rather than making a healthier breakfast/lunch/dinner at home.

It's also worth it to mention that this generation of people are getting more and more accustomed to the pleasures that technology presents, and are getting out less and less. Add that to the fat food factor and we've got an entire generation of couch potatoes and eating machines.
I've always wondered about All You Can Eat places. Why do we need to eat all we can eat?

"All You Can Eat" is a tactic to get people to eat more.. and want more food.
And yes, I agree about generation being couch potatoes and eating machines.. Because that is what everything is come to. Hell, I don't do anything but sit down and chill on my laptop after school. But, I do also do some activities to keep myself exercised.

Then again, in the US, the prices for fast food is rather cheap isn't it? Or so I heard.
All You Can Eat places mostly rely on "cheap" prices and of course, the temptation of being able to eat as much as you can.
And then there are people who eat when they are stressed, bored, etc, in which case, I suppose, fast foods and such become more desirable then healthier alternatives.

Mostly. They have been raising prices lately, though, so I don't know. I don't go out to eat all that often.. Maybe pizza once every three months? And chinese food once a year. I haven't had Taco Bell, Wendy's, or an mexican foods in years. (This is mainly because I can't afford to eat out, but I feel as though this is a beneficiary thing, even though I do love fast food sometimes.)
And yes. When bored, stressed, etc.. People eat more. And, if they don't want to go to a fast food place, they can simply pick up TV dinners or something else that's literally the same unhealthiness level as fast food is.

Ah I see. The sad fact is that no one seems to really appreciate home cooked food now, much less the time to cook it.
