fedupwithschoollunch.blogspot.comNot sure how many of you have seen this, but I found it fascinating. Really gave me an insight to what Americans eat when in school. It seems pretty creepy though. Anyone care to share what you ate when you were schooling?

First off.. Those lunches look healthier than the lunches that my school has..
The pizza is always greasy, the food can never be considered healthy, and the lunch ladies do not wear hair nets even though it's illegal not to. Every time I have school lunch, my stomach hurts afterward and I feel somewhat sick. Even the sandwich bar doesn't help much, because who knows what else has been going on in that kitchen? I honestly do not trust our school lunches and barely eat lunch at all because of it. Maybe one day I'll take a picture of it and post it here for you to see.

The school won't. As much as they "enforce" nutrition - they still serve us the crappiest of foods. They're simply too lazy and careless to deal with it, instead of making us healthier. Plus - they don't wish to use what money that school has for food. They'd prefer to spend it on the sports teams. I disagree with this, because of how I feel as though what we intake into our bodies is more important than playing football/basketball/etc.

Agreed. What's better? A small group of sporty people or a whole school of healthy kids? But unfortunately, thats how most schools are. They'd rather spend money on areas which can earn them stuff like fame, trophies and other stuff.

Does anyone in your school bring pre-prepared lunches?

Especially when our teams usually lose. Hell, our homecoming game a few months back was 0-42. How humiliating is that? Tsk. That sounds absolutely horrible. Does anyone in your school bring pre-prepared lunches? Of course. A lot of people don't want to deal with what's served. I usually get the lunch at school, because I'm simply too lazy to make myself lunch in the mornings before leaving. And, I get free lunch due to the income of my household. (Well, I'm thankful for that because I wouldn't pay for this school's lunch anyhow.) I end up usually not eating and wait until I get home to eat, which is fine.

Sounds like your school either has a very tight budget, or they simply do not care about the well being of you all based on what you wrote...

I believe it's a little of both.
